Hair transplantation is a cosmetic surgery technique in which healthy hair follicles are harvested from the donor area and planted to recipient area where your hair is thinning. Donor area is mainly the back side of the head where the hair follicles are genetically resistant to balding. How much grafts will be planted depends on the density of your donor area. Without destroying the donor area maximum number of grafts are harvested.

In rare cases, a patient may not have enough density and other hairy part of the body can be used as a donor. This is called Body Hair Transplant. Body hair transplantation can be successfully used either alone or in combination with scalp hair in advanced grades of baldness, for improving the cosmetic appearance of hairlines and in scarring alopecia when there is paucity of donor scalp hair. 

Hair transplantation surgery can also be used to recover beard, moustache, eyebrows and eyelashes.
